What we do
and how we do it
We offer a variety of methodologies to help you develop relevant and valuable communications, services, products, and workplace initiatives.
Understanding your Users
User Research
User research covers a wide range of methods aimed at putting users at the centre of the output you are trying to create and should be the starting point for any successful product, initiative, and/or service. We offer several user research methods to help you understand your users. These include:
Interviews
We facilitate In-depth interviews with users who are typical of your intended target audiences to find out what is important to them, how they may use your product in their day to day lives, what their opinions and motivations are, and what your communication, product, program may need to look and feel like to be relevant to their needs. This will provide you with rich information about your users and the context in which they may use your service/product/information.
We observe users interacting with your products in their natural contexts and ask questions during those observations to provide you with accurate and detailed insights on how easy, satisfying, and relevant your users find your product.
Concept testing
A rough idea of what your product, service might look like is provided to people typical of your users who can then offer feedback on how relevant and engaging the intended product/service may be for them. This allows you at a very early stage to understand if your service/product will meet the needs of the intended recipients and to gain any recommendations on what changes may need to be made.
Focus groups
We bring together a small group of people (8-12) who are typical of the audience that you would like to reach to gain insights into their perceptions, beliefs, opinions about your program, campaign, initiative, product to provide you with insights on what it needs to look, feel and be like to be relevant and engaging for your audience.
Co-design workshops
We work with a small group of people (8-12) who are typical of your target users providing them with activities to generate discussion enabling them to play an active role in generating ideas for the development and design of a concept for a campaign, product, service, or program that you may be developing.
Usability Testing
We provide tasks and scenarios to users typical of your target audiences to gain an understanding of how easy and satisfying your digital product is to use and navigate.
Diary studies
We ask users typical of your target audience to interact with your product over a period from anywhere between a week to over a month. Users are asked to record their experiences and keep notes and then we discuss their experiences to provide you with in-depth understanding of how relevant, engaging, and easy your product to users in their natural environment. Vogl & Blake also sometimes used this method if they are testing large amounts of content for a client to test for understandability and application.
Card sorting
Asking users typical of your target audience to organise topics under headings to enable you to place or test that the information that you have provided is organised under the tabs/headings in your digital product in a way that users can easily find them.
Understanding your Employees
